A compilation of all I’ve learned about using DaVinci Resolve so far.
Keyboard Shortcuts
- You can customize your keyboard shortcuts by going to DaVinci Resolve in the top left corner and clicking Keyboard Customization
- Turn snapping on/off: S
- Trim Mode: T
- Selection Mode: V
- Toggle enable/disable: D
- Select clips forward one track: Y
- Select clips back one track: CTRL + Y
- Select clips forward all tracks: ALT + Y
- Select clips back all tracks: ALT + CTRL + Y
Edit Timeline Navigation
- Zoom in: CTRL +
- Zoom out: CTRL –
- Horizontal scroll: CTRL + Mousewheel
Playhead and Clip Movements
- Move playhead one frame later: Right Arrow
- Move playhead one second later: Shift + Right Arrow
- Move playhead one frame earlier: Left Arrow
- Move playhead one second earlier: Shift + Left Arrow
- Move playhead to end of the clip: Down Arrow
- Move playhead to start of the clip: Up Arrow
- Nudge clip one frame later: .
- Nudge clip one frame earlier: ,
- Nudge clip 5 frames later: Shift + .
- Nudge clip 5 frames earlier: Shift + ,
Ripple Based Editing
- Cut clip at playhead: CTRL + B
- Delete selection: Backspace
- Ripple delete selection (backs up following clips to the previous clip): Delete
- Ripple trim end to playhead: Shift + CTRL + ]
- Ripple trim start to playhead: Shift + CTRL + [
Copy & Paste Attributes
- Copy: CTRL + C
- Paste attributes: ALT + V
Linked Audio & Video
- Temporarily unlink clips: ALT + Select clip
